The runway at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) will be kept closed for three hours each night from 1 October 1 to 14 October for the purpose of maintenance.
All flight operations temporarily will be suspended during that time, said Executive Director of Shahjalal Airport Group Captain Md Kamrul Islam on Sunday night.
He said that the closure will be imposed from 1 am to 4 am each night to facilitate maintenance work related to the Instrument Landing System (ILS) Category II.
The maintenance will include work on the runway's centreline lights, touch-down zone lights, and the installation of stop way lighting systems for Runways 14 and 32.
