A mild to moderate heatwave is currently affecting the entire country, and the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted that it is likely to persist.
In its latest weather update bulletin on Sunday (22 September), BMD indicated that several areas in the Khulna, Barisal, and Chattogram divisions, as well as isolated spots in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds.
There may also be moderately heavy rainfall in certain parts of the country.
Both daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across Bangladesh.
Regarding the heatwave, the BMD stated that the mild to moderate heatwave currently sweeping across the country could persist, with temperatures remaining largely steady during both day and night.
Some places may also experience moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Temperatures across the country may decrease by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
The tendency for rain or thunderstorms is expected to increase over the next five days.
