A group of miscreants vandalised the Dhaka Elevated Expressway near the Kuril Bishwa Road area.
"The incident took place at around 9am on Wednesday (18 September)," said Dhaka Elevated Expressway Project Director AHM Akhter.
According to Akhter, the trouble began when a pickup truck carrying passengers attempted to access the expressway.
"We do not allow such vehicles on the expressway," he said.
"Motorcycles, CNG-powered auto-rickshaws, or pickups carrying passengers are not permitted. This was conveyed to them at the toll plaza, which led to an argument. Shortly after, they resorted to vandalism. We immediately sought assistance from the police, who arrived promptly and apprehended the individuals," he said.
The pickup was reportedly carrying 30-40 passengers, although the project director was unable to provide further details regarding their identities.
