Police have arrested former member of parliament for Kushtia-4 Selim Altaf George from Lalmatia area in the capital on Tuesday (18 September).
Rezaul Karim Mallick, additional commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and chief of Detective Branch, confirmed the matter of arrest to the media.
Selim is accused in multiple murder cases filed in Kushtia and Dhaka, the DB chief said.
He won in the 11th Jatiya Sangsad Election as a candidate of Awami League.
Selim served as lawmaker for Kushtia-4 (Khoksa-Kumarkhali) constituency from January 2019 to January 2024.
